THE NUTCRACKER: Elementary Style
I had the pleasure to substitute this last month in my old elementary music classroom this last month. Per the teacher's request we studied The Nutcracker. There were so many wonderful activities pinned on pintrest that this unit grew into a delightful unit. Dancing, movement, listening maps and reading of the basic story were all included in the plans. I will add the PDF files soon.

RETIRED: No Way!
It was a great ride to teach the youth of our great country to love and enjoy music. After 34 years and many years of vocal over use... I decided to retire from the daily teaching. I've had the chance to go back into the classroom many times over the last year to substitute for some wonderful teachers. I find that I'm still enjoying the students, staff and hugs each day that I'm called to help.
I've also had the pleasure to volunteer in several areas. Helping young teachers and making their job easier is very rewarding as well. Students have taught me more in this last year than I thought possible. Expressive reading, new math techniques, and Common Core being among a few of the new experiences.
I'm still being creative and want to use this site to share a few of my ideas in the area of Music Education.
